Life flies by so fast and the kids grow up so quickly that it’s nice to plan for the long term and try to contribute to the world that my great-great grandchildren will live in. I think we all like to know that there is wilderness out there - it’s a basic human need, even for city people. It’s great that all of us will be able to put aside our own little plots of forest and really make a difference.
I volunteer as the Foundation's Creative Strategist. I believe that we need new tools for forest conservation. For a number of years I have listened to people from all sectors of life, and there seems to be a general concern and willingness to act privately for forest conservation. To put it simply, without big areas of biodiverse, thriving forestlands we are depleted both as individuals and as nations. I welcome the Helsinki Foundation.
I am the start-up volunteer. I’ve built start-ups in media and finance, but never a Foundation. I love the outdoors and clean air. I’m concerned about the direction the world is going and I want to make a difference. Together many like minded people can do magic. Let’s save something for others and have fun doing it.
Concern for nature runs through our entire society. I am happy to provide my time and connections to the Foundation's valuable work to preserve nature for future generations.
As an entrepreneur I feel that it is important to engage decision makers, companies of different sizes and private citizens to help our work. Regardless of your economical status, origin, age or political ideology you can make a difference.
We make it easy for everyone to act for nature.
If you want to help our work or your company wishes to participate in our CSR program, please contact me on +358 50 553 3555 or via email.
I'm enthusiastic about people taking important things like conservation into their own hands instead of leaving it up to the government. Everyone seems to be concerned about the planet, but there aren't many things you can do as an individual that will actually improve things long-term (unless you are Steve Irwin or Ted Turner). It's great to be part of something that allows anyone to do so.
It was Steve Irwin that alerted me to the threats to diversity that habitat destruction brings. The foundation is a great way to contribute to defending key areas on this planet for future generations. I am proud to give my time to support this great initiative and look forward to helping it expand.
As we work towards creative new ways for everyone to play a role in conservation, giving ownership and putting the responsibility of our future in our hands is a necessity. That’s why I decided to join the team at Helsinki Foundation.
We are responsible for everything else in our lives; our security, well-being and preparing a brighter future for our loved ones, so why not take the same responsibility towards our outlook on the environment which influences our lives and provides for our existence?
The forest has a very special place in my heart. When I was a child I spent many a day playing in our local forest and building treehouses. Nowadays, a walk in the forest de-stresses and reinvigorates me. Forests are the lungs of our planet, a part of Finnish identity and home to many creatures. Let’s take care of the world’s forests!
Teaming up with the Helsinki Foundation is a part of my personal journey to do more for our climate. I feel a responsibility to use my platform to raise awareness of our time's biggest issues and climate change is definitely one of them.
Like most Finns I love the nature and I'm appalled by the deforestation that is happening all around the world. Collectively we need to work harder to preserve our forest, not ruin it. Land conservation through the Helsinki Foundation's grassroot movement is a good place to start and I'm happy to be a small part of this united effort.
